Daiwa Bait Junkie Heavy Jig Head is a heavy-duty soft plastic jig head built for clean rigging, stronger hook penetration and better lure posture on the bottom. Developed over two and a half years by Daiwa Australia with angler Kris Hickson and lure maker Dan Stead, it pairs a 2X strong BKK heavy wire hook with Daiwa’s SaqSas coating for a slick, Teflon-like finish that helps the point penetrate faster and improves hook-up consistency.
- 2X strong BKK heavy wire hook for extra strength around structure and bigger fish
- SaqSas hook coating reduces friction for sharper, cleaner penetration
- Unique bait keeper developed across 25+ prototypes to hold stretchy ELASTOMAX plastics in place
- Cylinder-style head with flat back makes rigging straighter and neater
- Flattened chin helps create a tail-up posture when the lure rests on the bottom
- Resealable zip bag helps keep unused jig heads dry and easier to organise
Unlike standard bullet-shaped jig heads, the flattened chin and buoyant ELASTOMAX pairing help your soft plastic sit tail-up, even on hard bottom where presentation matters most. Compared to basic keepers that let plastics slide down and bunch up, this keeper design is made specifically to stop elastic-style baits from balling into a twisted mess.
It is a solid choice for estuary, river and inshore fishing when you need dependable hook strength, neat rigging and better lure control around sand, rock or hard-bottom areas. The removable size and weight label also makes tackle tray organisation easy when you are carrying multiple jig head options in a boat or tackle bag.
